Cars and Pirates not available in Blu-ray before 2007

There was a lot of disappointment yesterday at a Disney financial conference press. "Eventually "Cars" and "Pirates" will obviously be released in the Blu-ray format although in the initial array movies that will be made available, I guess it would be the fourth quarter of '06 and early first quarter of ‘07" said Bob Iger, President of Disney.

This is not good news for the Blu-ray camp who desperately needs new titles to compete with HD DVD. At this point, the score is 46 movies for HD DVD and only 22 movies for Blu-ray. Read more on HD DVD vs. Blu-ray.
