Blu-ray vs. HD DVD: The Fans are Now Fighting!
Sony, Toshiba, Panasonic, Microsoft and all major studios are fighting for their favorite HD format for a few years now. But until today, fans of each format were note really active members of the war. This as changed this week tough! They are now actively fighting for their favorite format. 
After Sony did a very well orchestrated stunt with the release of Casino Royale, HD DVD fans from AVS forums have decided to help Toshiba by joining there buying power to bring a HD DVD title higher in the sales ranking of Amazon.
They were successful and as a result now HD DVD is on top according to the Amazon sales rank and at one point, the Planet Earth HD DVD was ranked #4, which is even higher than Casino Royal achieved. While this is certainly an interesting result, it just goes to show how easily the Amazon sales ranks can be manipulated.
The same group is planning a similar "attack" with the release of The Matrix Trilogy on May 22nd.
But Blu-ray fans from ps3forums are not going to let the other camp get away with that stunt so easily. They are planning are "buying day at Amazon" on April 21st.
The war just took a new dimension here. I can't wait to see the results!
