Such a Deal, Not!

When you already have purchased the same film on VHS, and now DVD, it can be a pain in the butt to have to repurchase it again on Blu-ray. However, we all want our films in the latest format, and initially this seemed like a good idea. The Criterion Collection is offering an "opportunity" to trade in DVD's, and to repurchase the same film for the amazingly low price of $25. Cough, cough? While everyone is trying to make a buck, I think I'd pass on that one as you can just purchase the Blu-ray film for around the same price, especially when you factor in the price of the postage of sending the DVD back. Right idea, wrong price IMHO.

I agree. On top of that, they only exchange the disc so you end up putting your Criterion Blu-ray disc in the Criterion DVD case. I guess its better than nothing but keep in mind Criterion discs do cost more than Studio releases
