Blu-ray Release Date for An American Werewolf in London - Full Moon Edition

Just over a week ago, director John Landis mentioned how pleased he was with the transfer for the forthcoming Blu-ray edition of his horror-comedy An American Werewolf in London, teasing fans that a new edition was on its way.  We estimated the release date would be sometime in October or early November, however today, Universal have issued their official announcement and news the disc will be out on the 15th September! 

Here's the full line-up of extras on An American Werewolf in London - Full Moon Edition.

• Beware the Moon.  This is Paul Davis's 100-minute documentary which fans really wanted on the disc!  An in-depth look at making the movie, it features plenty of never seen before footage and interviews.
• I Walked with a Werewolf.  Presented in HD, this looks at Rick Baker and the evolution of his amazing special effects work on the film.
• BD-Live content.
• Commentary track.
• Making An American Werewolf in London.  The original featurette.
• An Interview with John Landis.
• Casting of the Hand.
• Outtakes, storyboards and photos.

The film will be presented on a BD-50 disc, with a 1.85:1 widescreen transfer and DTS-HD audio.  The press release also briefly mentions the digitally remastered picture.  No artwork as yet, but a retail price of $26.98 is listed.  One to definitely look forward too!

[Cheap Blu-Ray Films]

This for me is a huge cult horror film that reminds me of my youth. Although it is a comedy/horror it does deliver some scary moments especially that on the moors at the start of the film. Don't step off the path........
