This Week's New Blu-ray Releases - 27th October

Posted by Andy Boxall

Night of the Creeps Another week gets underway and here's our roundup of the latest Blu-rays out on general release, starting with the USA.

US Releases for the 27th October.

Night of the Creeps.

Science fiction and horror all-in-one, and more camp than a row of tents.  This long awaited Director's Cut has DTS-HD, two commentaries, plenty of featurettes and some deleted scenes.

The Living Dead at Manchester Morgue.

Previously released in the US under the alternative title of Let Sleeping Corpses Lie, this Blu repeats the extras found on the Blue Underground DVD, with a commentary, a return to the locations and some interviews with the male lead Ray Lovelock and the director Jorge Grau.

Orphan - Special Edition

Barking mad killer-child horror which comes with a digital copy on disc two.

Stargate - 15th Anniversary Edition.

Roland Emmerich's sci-fi gets the extended treatment.

Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs.

A three disc edition, but it's not as grand as it sounds as disc two is the digital copy and disc three is the DVD.  The Blu-ray has plenty of extras though, including lots of Fox Channel featurettes and plenty of Scrat to keep the young fans entertained.

Also released is Battlestar Galactica: The Plan, Elektra and Stan Helsing.

UK Releases for 26th October.

Drag Me to Hell.

Disappointingly limited release with no commentary from Raimi, but some BD-Live content and D-BOX support.

Lost: Season Five.

All episodes from season five, with a surprising amount of extra content too.  Four docs cover the producers work with the time-travel storyline, Building 23, the DHARMA initiative and a day with Richard Alpert.

Monsters Vs. Aliens.

Like Ice Age 3, there are plenty of extras for the young ones with a B.O.B.S. Big Break short, plus some animation documentaries and a commentary for older fans.

Also released are Ghost in the Shell, Ghost in the Shell 2.0, District 13, District 13: Ultimatum and Dances With Wolves.
