Blu-ray Rumour and Release Date Roundup - 27th November
This week we've got plenty of news and new release dates to talk about, so let's get started:
The Hurt Locker - 28th December UK.
Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels - 25th January 2010 UK.
The Running Man - 9th February 2010 USA.
The Ladykillers (1955) - 16th February 2010 USA.
Cabin Fever - 16h February 2010 USA.
Could Image Entertainment be preparing to release The Twilight Zone TV series on Blu-ray during 2010? We certainly hope so!
Ran.Kurosawa's Ran will finally be making its Blu-ray debut next year, however not from Criterion as was expected, but from Lions Gate instead. The 1080p movie will be joined by DTS Master audio, the A.K. documentary on the making of the film plus several other documentaries on the director. It's out on the 16th February in the USA.
20th Century Fox.A French website has suggested that the studio is set to release some big titles onto Blu-ray during 2010. During the first half of the year we can expect Minority Report and Road to Perdition along with The Magnificent Seven, Hang 'em High and For a Few Dollars More, while the second half should see the Alien quadrilogy, The Abyss and the Sound of Music. We can't wait!
Ichi the Killer.Fans of Takashi Miike's most infamous movie will have to wait a little longer for the HD version, as Tokyo Shock have pushed the release back to the 23rd February 2010. Given the amount of delays this one has already had, we'd take that date with a pinch of salt too.
I have no answer as to why this is the case, and I thought possibly wiping Exchange attributes would resolve this, but to no avail. I even blogged about this issue.
