Although we still have a few weeks until the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas - it begins on the 7th January 2010 - NAD Electronics have decided to give us a preview of their latest Blu-ray player, which they plan to show off there, before the event.  Named the T 557, they claim it's an affordable player with the latest technology inside, the unit should be available for order at NAD dealers too.

The T 557 will happily play Blu-ray discs, DVDs upscaled to 1080p, CDs, DivX, MPEG2 and MPEG4 files and is Profile 2.0 for BD-Live content, amongst other things, too.  There is onboard decoding for Dolby TrueHD and DTS Master Audio and a USB port for music, video and picture files, plus both an Ethernet port and built-in Wi-Fi allow connection to the Internet.  NAD also promise fast loading times and 'instant open', where any wait to eject the disc is minimal.

On the rear of the player you'll see both coaxial and optical audio connections along with 7.1 analogue audio outputs too.  The aforementioned Wi-Fi makes the T 557 the first NAD Blu-ray player with home networking capabilities to stream content from a networked PC or hard drive.

The price of the T 557 stands at $599 retail in the USA.
