This Week's New Blu-ray Releases - 29th December
While the sales may be tempting, there are also several new Blu-ray titles out this week which deserve your attention.
Paranormal Activity.
The low-budget sleeper hit comes to Blu-ray, but with nothing in terms of extra features. We predict a special edition will follow this bare bones release later in 2010.
Jennifer's Body.
Megan Fox does horror rather than robots. The disc has both the theatrical and the unrated cuts of the movie, plus two commentary tracks, deleted scenes and a digital copy on the second disc.
9.
Inspired by a short film, this animated sci-fi includes deleted scenes, a documentary on the film, a commentary with the makers and the short itself.
UK Releases for the 28th December.The Hurt Locker.
Released before the US edition, there are only a few extras to compliment the excellent film, with just a few featurettes and interviews on the disc.
District 9.
One of the best sci-fi movies of 2009 comes to Blu in the UK. HMV has an exclusive steelbook edition for the collector's out there!
Final Destination 4.
Both a 2D and 3D version of the movie is included, along with some deleted scenes, alternate endings and a featurette on the film's body count.
This is great.. Just waiting for time to watch this :(
