This Week's New Blu-ray Releases - 8th December
The studios are all gearing up for the holiday season, with plenty of big titles hitting Blu-ray over the coming few weeks, starting right now!
Public Enemies - 2-Disc Special Edition.
Micheal Mann directs Johnny Depp and Christian Bale. Mann provides a commentary and there are features on the real-life locations and characters, plus U-Control and BD-Live content.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
A three disc set with a digital copy and the film on DVD. Maximum Movie Mode is the standout Blu-ray exclusive feature. The only thing is, the packaging is not going to match the new Ultimate Editions also released today, so be prepared to double-dip if you're a fan.
Julie & Julia.
Adaptation of Julie Powell's autobiography. Director Nora Ephron gives a commentary and there are various cooking-related features to keep fans entertained.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone/Chamber of Secrets - Ultimate Editions.
Re-releases of the first two Potter movies. The new packaging contains a book and three discs - one with the theatrical and the extended version of the movie, a digital copy and the extras DVD seen in a previous release. Part one and two of the new 'The Magic Begins' retrospective documentary are found on their respective releases.
UK Releases for the 7th December.Inglourious Basterds.
Tarantino's latest is available as a standard release or as a limited edition with art cards and a metal slipcase.
The Hangover - Extended Cut.
The theatrical version is joined by the 107 minute extended version. Extras include a picture-in-picture commentary track and mash-up featurettes containing the action and the cursing.
G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra.
Stephen Sommers provides a commentary on the movie, plus a making-of is included. A specially produced 3D game can be accessed via a website too,
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
The UK also sees the release of Harry Potter's latest outing.
