CES 2010: Sony Add Three Blu-ray All-in-One Systems to Range
In addition to the three new standalone Blu-ray players, Sony have added three new complete home cinema systems to their range, and in a completely non-shocking move, one is 3D capable. We start at the lower end of the scale though, with the BDV-E570. This set includes five satellite speakers and a subwoofer, totaling 1000 watts, while the player will handle 1080p Blu-ray, CD, SACD and upscaling DVD. A USB port will accept an iPod for music playback and the unit has Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD decoding too.
Next up is the BDV-E770W which again comprises of five satellite speakers and a subwoofer, but this time the rear speakers are the wireless S-AIR variety; an option on the E570. Specification remains similar aside from the inclusion of a USB Wi-Fi adaptor.
Topping the range is the new BDV-H970W, which is pictured above. Again, the rear speakers are S-AIR wireless items and this time the front pair are mounted on stands for ease of placement, and the output is still rated at 1000 watts. Like its sister all-in-one packages, there is Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD decoding, a USB port, DVD upscaling and SACD support plus the USB Wi-Fi adaptor. The H970W is 3D capable and also benefits from Sony's IP Content Noise Reduction technology.
All three systems are compatible with the iPhone/iPod Touch remote control app and come complete with Gracenote's database technology and online streaming content from the usual providers too. Like everything else, there are no prices for the systems as yet and the only release window given is that of summer 2010.
