Panasonic Japan Introduces Four Blu-ray DVRs
Due for release in February are these four new Panasonic DVRs, but only in Japan. The players come under the Diga series banner and use Panasonic's Advanced AVC Engine for excellent Blu-ray video quality, plus Super Resolution technology for sharp upscaling too.
The DMR-BW680-K is the entry level player without a built-in hard drive, but with the ability to record on 50GB Blu-ray discs, something which the DMR-BR580-K doesn't have, but it replaces the feature with a 500GB hard drive. The two upper-range models, the DMR-BW780-K and the DMR-BW880-K, both have hard drives - 75GB and 1TB respectively - and the both can record two TV channels at the same time thanks to a fourth generation AVC video encoder. The BW880 appears to have Wi-Fi, but it's not clear if the BW780 does too.
Prices, just like international availability, has yet to be confirmed.

The quality of the Panasonic DVRs are good.
