Why Looking at Your Blu-ray Laser May Not be a Good Idea

Many months back we posted a video showing a lighter with the flame replaced by a Blu-ray laser.  Geeky, certainly, but nowhere near as geeky as this:

Yep, that's a Star Trek: The Original Series phaser using a Blu-ray laser unit to annihilate some annoying balloons someone has left lying around.  The unit came from a Pioneer BDR-205, whose 12X speed is one of the most powerful available.  This amazing project has been detailed in picture form for other aspiring Kirks to follow.
