This Week's New Blu-ray Releases - 23rd February 2010
Here is a rundown of this week's major new Blu-ray releases in the UK
and
USA.
The Box.
Richard Kelly's latest work. Featuring a commentary track with the man himself, a documentary on the real life experiences which expanded the short story to feature length, plus some music videos, featurettes and an interview with sci-fi writer Richard Matheson.
The Crazies.
Blue Underground bring Romero's virus movie to HD. Aside from the trailers and TV spots, there is an interview with Lynn Lowry and a commentary from George A. Romero.
The Informant!
A two-disc set with a digital copy. Director Steven Soderbergh provides a commentary for the Matt Damon espionage comedy.
Ichi the Killer.
Tokyo Shock bring the unrated version of Takashi Miike's notorious Japanese Yakuza movie to HD.
Also released are Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant, Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead, Sorority Row and Dead Snow.
UK Releases for the 22nd February:This Is It.
The rehearsal footage from the doomed London show. A two-part Making-of documentary and featurettes on the band, the auditions, the vocalists and the choreography are included, along with the Blu-ray exclusive Thriller vignette and the making-of Smooth Criminal. A Blu-ray steelbook is available alongside the regular packaging.

The sci-fi animated tale gets a standard release and an attractive Limited Edition in the form of a hard backed book with art and information from the film. Extras include a commentary and the original short film.
Cabin Fever.
An unrated director's cut of Eli Roth's debut film. A commentary with Roth, a making-of and two short films are among the extras.
Day of the Triffids.
This is the remake broadcast over Christmas 2009. Featurettes on the making-of and the special effects join DTS-HD audio.
Also released are Copying Beethoven, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and City Girl.
