Blu-ray City of the Living Dead in May

Arrow are really spoiling us with zombie movie releases this year, as their stunning Dawn and Day of the Dead releases are set to be joined by Lucio Fulci's City of the Living Dead too.  An unusual choice this, as The Beyond is probably the better known Fulci undead film, but it's about time City was treated to a proper UK release.

The set comes with four different posters to use as cover art and a new booklet named Fulci of the Dead packed with new interviews from FX master Sergio Stivaletti, Zombie Flesh Eaters actor Ian McCulloch and several more.  The Blu-ray will be a single disc release with the following as extras:

  • Film introduced by Carlo De Mejo.
  • New commentary with Giovanni Lombardo Radice, aka John Morghen.
  • Commentary with Catriona MacColl and Jay Slater, author of the excellent book on Italian zombie and cannibal cinema, Eaten Alive!
  • Several featurettes:
    • Carlo of the Living Dead
    • Penning Some Paura.
    • Profondo Luigi: A colleagues Memories of Lucio Fulci.
    • Fulci's Daughter: Memories of the Italian Gore Meastro.
    • Fulci in the House - The Italian Master of Splatter.
    • Dame of the Dead.
  • Catriona MacColl and Giovanni Lombardo Radice Q&A, recorded at the Glasgow Film festival.
  • The Many Lives and Deaths of Giovanni Lombardo Radice.  This 50-minute documentary is a biography of the star of several Italian horror movies.
Arrow's City of the Living Dead will be uncut, region free and released on the 24th May.
