This Week's New Blu-ray Releases - 9th March 2010
US Releases for the 9th March:
Precious.
As the cumbersome subtitle states, this is the film based on the novel Push, by Sapphire. Extras include a conversation with Sapphire, a featurette on how the movie was adapted from the novel and a commentary from the director.
Capitalism: A Love Story.
Michael Moore's latest documentary. Various featurettes and interviews continue the story, plus there is a Blu-ray exclusive conversation with Harvard professor Elizabeth Warren.
Possession.
Sarah Michelle Geller is a remake of an Asian horror? Nope, it's not the Grudge, but the more recent Korean movie Addicted. Deleted scenes, alternate ending and a featurette are the only extras.
Up in the Air.
Jason Reitman's successful film starring George Clooney. Reitman provides a commentary track.
Also out on this date is Planet 51, Old Dogs and Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day.
UK Releases for the 8th March:
An Education.
Rubbish cover art conceals a great film. The extras are better though, with cast interviews, deleted scenes and a commentary.
Toy Story I and II.
Both these classic Pixar tales are served up as Combi packs with DVD and Blu-ray editions inside.
Julie & Julia.
As well as a commentary with Nora Ephron, there are several Blu-ray exclusive features including Julia's Kitchen, a tour of the custom made original set, plus a MovieIQ feature called Julia's Recipe Collector.
Also out on the 8th is Saw VI.
