This Week's New Blu-ray Releases - 8th June 2010
Here is a rundown of this week's major new Blu-ray releases in the UK
and USA.
Shutter Island.
Hardly packed out with features, the Blu-ray has just two featurettes named Behind the Shutters and Into the Lighthouse. Still, it's better than nothing, which is what you get on the DVD.
From Paris with Love.
The Blu-ray edition comes with an exclusive digital copy, plus the movie has a picture-in-picture commentary and several featurettes.
Caddyshack.
The classic comedy has a 1080p transfer and a 5.1 audio track, plus the Blu-ray gets The Inside Story retrospective documentary, which is apparently 'feature-length'.
Also released: The Illusionist and Not the Messiah.
UK Releases:Ponyo.
Presented in 1080p with a 6.1 DTS-HD audio track, there are plenty of mini featurettes, interviews and storyboards to enjoy here. Aside from the Blu-ray/DVD Combo set, there is a digipack-style Deluxe Limited Edition available with artcards and a sticker sheet. This is pictured above.
The Wolfman - Extended Cut.
Following on from the US release last week, the UK now gets the Extended Cut of The Wolfman, complete with Limited Edition steelbook.
A Single Man.
Tom Ford provides a commentary on his film and there is a Making-of feature too. The Blu-ray also has MovieIQ too.
Also released: A Prophet, Bad Boys, Spaghetti Western Collection and Where Eagles Dare.
