First Look at Arrow's Maniac Cop
While I don't always post Blu-ray preview news, this is one of Arrow's most interesting 2011 releases and worth sharing. Maniac Cop is one of the 80s slashers which passed me by, and I've never picked up one of the DVD releases to catch-up. Directed by William Lustig (also responsible for the similarly titled Maniac) and starring Tom Atkins and Bruce Campbell, Maniac Cop has had a difficult life on DVD, with a decent release in the USA from both Elite and Synapse, but a lacklustre UK effort from Optimum.
I'm hoping Arrow will change all this with another feature-packed edition, as the only extras on previous editions were a commentary track with Lustig, Campbell, writer Larry Cohen and composer Jay Chattaway; plus a short interview with Robert Z'Dar.
Arrow are listing a collector's booklet and new video interviews so far, but I get the impression there's more to come. Maniac Cop is out later this year and the Blu-ray will be region A, B and C, so everyone will get to enjoy it!
For now though, take a look at the new artwork by Rick Melton.

Thought I'd start a thread for Arrow Films and Arrow Video, DVD distributors of classic, world, horror and cult films, and TV series. The link to their website is below:

One of the options the default blogger comments lack is the option to reply to an individual comment. In fact it was one of the reasons i changed from blogger comments to Disqus comments.I have however come across a cool blogger hack that will enable comment replies for blogger.
